AGV AX-8 Evo Naked Road Helmet
AGV is an Italian firm, best known for the manufacturing of motorcycle helmets and have been often acquainted with famous motorcycle championship winners.
This helmet by AGV has received an aggressive look and is also the best one suitable for a wide variety of motorbikes such as streetfighters, entry level Nakeds, and supermotos.
The helmet is also quite suitable for the new generation of riders that have a strong personality and constantly seek a unique look. With low weight, tense lines and efficient ventilation, the helmet is great for the experienced riders as well.
AGV AX-8 Evo Naked Road Helmet Specs
Here’s the complete list of specifications for the helmet. Check them out!
- It has a Carbon fiber shell.
- It features an Integrated ventilation system.
- 3 shell sizes.
- It has Removable cheek pads.
- Dry-Lex padding.
- Anti-fog and anti-scratch face shield.
- Huge eye port.
- It features a Shock absorber.
Let’s go deeper into the specifications and features of this helmet.
The helmet comes with a thick internal padding which helps in improving comfort and offers more stability. The shell, which is made out of carbon, accounts for an extremely light helmet.
The outer shell along with a larger and softer blade reduces the interference when a back protector is used. As a result, this acts like a shock absorber, effectively reducing the risk of traumas in case of an impact.
The shape of the helmet is round and the ports for ventilation are minimal. The eye port in this helmet is quite big and the chin bar extends sharply from the chin to the cheeks. The AGV AX-8 Evo Naked road helmet is made from what is known as SSL layers. SSL stands for ‘super super light’.
These layers consist of fiberglass, Kevlar and carbon. On the inside, the helmet is lined with a Dry-Lex material. This material is very soft and also has the power of wicking away the sweat so that the rider is kept cool during his ride for an enjoyable experience.
The padding on the interior of the helmet is also washable and removable. Moreover, the helmet stays securely on the head thanks to the double-d closure.
The helmet is the most comfortable for a narrower head. However, with the three different shell sizes, you can find the right fit too. Apart from being stylish and rugged, another great feature is the huge eye port.
The helmet also has molded padding made of rubber on the bottom of the chin bar. So, when the rider is crouching, this plays the function of a shock absorber.
Thanks to the large eye port, the vision of the rider is not obstructed even when tucking or crouching.Changing the shield is also quite easy; however, it does need a coin or a screwdriver with a flat head.
The ventilation system of the AGV AX-8 Evo Naked Road Helmet is just average, that too, at the best. Yes, the events are very easy to adjust, even when wearing gloves.
However, hardly any air flows through the two exhaust vents or through the two brow vents. Even the large chin vent does not contribute much to the air but one reason behind this can also be the foam which is placed behind the chin vent in order to filter dust particles and dirt to keep the rider from inhaling them.
One troubling thing about the AGV AX-8 Evo Naked Road Helmet is the aerodynamics. Yes, the helmet provides a decent amount of protection from the wind but at greater speeds, the muscles in the neck start to exert more force than usual because the inability of the helmet to cut a fluid hole across the air.
It is important to highlight here that buffering or turbulence is nowhere an issue. There is just a feeling of your head being pushed slightly backwards.
Our AGV AX-8 Evo Naked Road Helmet Rating
We gave this helmet a superb rating of 9/10! This is because of the great balancing and amazing functions it provides the users with. The quality of the build is great and as always, the performance and the construction is absolutely top notch.
